proverbs
[10/18, 11:46] Alvira Litashya Umbas: The spa where I used to work has now become a Hajj travel agency. When I worked there, I felt like the place was full of ghosts because they used flowers from graves. The atmosphere was really creepy and uncomfortable, especially on the second floor, where there were lots of bamboo decorations. The sauna area was dimly lit, and the body scrub they used had a really strong, unpleasant fragrance that smelled like frangipani flowers. Everything about that place felt so spooky!
[10/18, 11:47] Alvira Litashya Umbas: I feel like they turned it into a Haji travel agency to make the place feel less creepy π But that’s for Muslims, and I’m a Christian, bro! LOL, that’s hilarious! π€£
[10/18, 12:11] Alvira Litashya Umbas: There are so many Muslims here in Indonesia. There are roughly 100 million Muslims, while there are only about 21 million Christians, so we’re outnumbered. Christians here usually keep a low profile around Muslims because we know that we have different beliefs and values. They live in darkness, while we walk in the light, so it feels like we’re on completely different wavelengths. That’s what the situation in Indonesia is like, just so you know.
Also, some less well-off Muslim shop owners, like those who run Madura-style shops, hide their oils, and some people don’t appreciate small bills and always want larger denominations. Some Muslim women can be quite flirtatious because Muslim men are allowed to marry more than one woman.
[10/18, 12:15] Alvira Litashya Umbas: If this gets leaked or I accidentally post it on my blog, they might come after me
[10/18, 14:03] Alvira Litashya Umbas: Oh, and they’re still secretly spreading Islam, so sometimes I disguise myself too.
Make the wording
[10/18, 14:04] Alvira Litashya Umbas: And the mafia here likes to recruit people whenever they want. If they think Islam will benefit them, well, you know how it goes.
[10/18, 14:06] Alvira Litashya Umbas: At church, some of them (the mafia) sometimes show up and seem to be looking for something, but later on, some of them sometimes convert back to Islam.
[10/18, 14:11] Alvira Litashya Umbas: If someone asks about my faith, I say it’s in the Lord Jesus. But things here aren’t like they are in the US. Here, you have to be very careful and guard your heart. If people find out that your faith is in the Lord Jesus, they might try to pressure you into converting to Islam.”
[10/18, 14:14] Alvira Litashya Umbas: So I hold on to Proverbs 4:23: ‘Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
